Anthrofiction Network's Short Story Contest, Summer 2008
Jul 10, 2008 - 5:27 AM - by ScottyDM
The summer 2008 short story contest is finally here!

The theme is not a theme this time, but a group of techniques. You must use at least one. The title of the theme is Under the Skin. Yea I know, the boilerplate at the top of that page says you may use the theme in a literal or figurative way--this time I'm looking for figurative. But hey, if you can provide a decent literal interpretation of the theme's title, more power to ya!

Some folks are already well versed in these techniques, but they'll be new to others. If you'd like a little more info than what's on that theme page, I've created a little 10,000-word essay on the subject titled Species Characterization in Anthrofiction: Ten Useful Techniques with Examples. I welcome critiques of this essay. I won't make any major changes to it this quarter, but I plan to keep it available on the site. One thing I thought of is to use works from many authors as examples, but I was kinda pressed for time and just grabbed what I had at hand.

Thanks for your patience.

Scotty

Anthrofiction Networks Short Story Contest, Spring 2008
Mar 05, 2008 - 5:30 PM - by ScottyDM
Anthrofiction Network is back, and the contest theme this quarter is Green. Think green growth, a new beginning, sprouts in the springtime, photosynthesis….

The rules--but in short: 1000 to 3500 words, at least one important character must be anthropomorphic, and keep it family friendly. As always, transformation is welcomed.

This contest is a labor of love and there is never any fee to enter. E-mail addresses and other personal information is held in the strictest confidence.

Provo's Realm of TF Update
Feb 29, 2008 - 2:59 PM - by Provolvere
Yes, I am still alive. It's amazing.

My website has now been updated to include all of my new artwork. Those that watch my furaffinity or deviantart accounts, there is not much art of my own that you have not seen already. However, there is a bunch of artwork that I have commissioned in the "Art from Others" section, with more to be posted shortly.

Enjoy, and as always, feedback is welcome.

I am holding a contest for August.

The winner will be the one who gets the most approved pages.

However once a story reaches it's limit(250,200,150,100 or 50 on the main story page) the pages no longer count.

There is also a prize for best page.

TFCentral Renewal Project
Jul 09, 2007 - 3:00 AM - by TFCAdmin
Expect to see changes to the site the next few weeks. For now heres some things that have transformed:

Automatic Registration Re-enabled aka Fixed
No more captchas!
No more moderated registration!
No more spammers!

Just a question even a caveman could answer.

Im looking for 3 more questions to ask. So if you have a good idea for one. i.e. funny and relitively simple, post and let me know.
Story Archive Fixed
Take a look: TFCentral TransFormation Story Archive

Its been upgraded quite a bit. Too much to list, so just have a look for yourself. Yes, the skin is messy but expect to see it clean up in the next few days.
Please try out the different skins. Then post and let me know what your favorite is! ( You can change the skin with the little drop down box with the skin names in it.)

Submission Contest
Shhhhh! Don't tell anyone!
I will paypal $50 to the author who submits the most stories to the TFCentral TransFormation Story Archive by the end of the month of July. Additionally, If there is enough interest there may be second and third cash prizes.

Rules: Must be your own work. Must be greater than 500 words. Must have quality that is at my disscression. Rules subject to change.

So get writing and remember, quality counts!
